Aquatics at the MAC

Aquatics Program

The MAC's aquatics program has been ranked as one of the nation's best, with:

  • 25-meter, six-lane indoor lap pool

  • Second indoor pool for water exercise classes, rehabilitation, children's swimming lessons and play; kept at 85 degrees

  • 25-yard, six-lane outdoor competitive lap pool with a 12-foot depth at one end for lifesaving and other types of classes

  • Outdoor leisure pool with a zero-depth entry on one side (gradually sloping down like a beach) for kids, recreational use, and swim lessons. This pool is kept at 85 degrees.

  • Giant 200-foot-long water slide that empties into our outdoor leisure pool.

Both outdoor pools are seasonally enclosed in an air structure so they can be used year-round. For added summertime enjoyment, there are picnic tables, a food service area, sand volleyball courts, playground and a generous sand play area for children adjacent to our outdoor pools.

Group Swim Lessons

The MAC offers regularly scheduled group swim lessons for all ages and swim levels. The next session begins in April.

Summer Swim Camp

Weekly group lessons Mon. - Thurs. mornings in the outdoor pools throughout the summer. Swim camp begins the week of June 10 and registration is open now! Join us for 1 week or all 9 weeks of swim camp this summer.

Lessons

Swim Academy

Training for kids ages 8 - 13

Development of all four strokes and their associated skills (starts, turns, finishes) while working on strength, endurance and speed work.

Participants must have experience in two strokes, freestyle and either backstroke or breaststroke. They must also be able to swim 1 length (25 yards) non-stop using any combination of the four competitive swim strokes.

Tuesdays at 5:00 - 5:45 p.m.

Master Swim

Master Swimming is a program designed for adults that would like to continue to work on endurance, train for meets or triathlons, or just to remain active and meet new friends. Class is held in the outdoor lap pool. The coach on deck will provide a workout.

Water Fitness Classes

The MAC offers a variety of water fitness classes a week including H2O Fit, Water Works Arthritis, and Water Cardio Core.

Therapeutic Aquatic Program

Join our certified water fitness instructors for a medically based aqua fitness class.

  • Classes are held in the exercise pool

  • Pool temperature is 85 and 87 degrees

  • Classes are 45 minutes in length

The program includes two classes per week. Participants can register for Monday/Wednesday class or Tuesday/Thursday class. To enroll in the program a physician’s note and completion of the emergency contact and medical release form is required.

M.S. Water Fitness Class

A Multiple Sclerosis Society Aquatic Program, consisting of strengthening and endurance activities (if tolerated). Class is designed for each individual's specific needs. This positive environment promotes working together to achieve balance, flexibility, strength, cardio, and fun.

**A chair lift is available to participants who require assistance in and out of the water. Doctor’s note and release required.

Water Fitness

Private Aquatics Personal Training

  • The buoyancy of water reduces the impact on joints and muscles, making it an ideal choice for individuals with mobility issues, joint pain, or those recovering from injuries. It's also suitable for older adults who may find land-based exercises too taxing on their bodies.

  • Like traditional personal training, water personal training is customized to the individual's needs, goals, and fitness level. Trainers assess their clients and design workouts to help them achieve their desired outcomes, whether it's weight loss, rehabilitation, improved fitness, or overall wellness.

  • 30 min/ $37.50
    1 hour/ $65
